Removing Paint from Bricks

The outside bricks on my house were painted with oil paint 50 years ago. To remove the paint I have tried paint removers, peel away paint remover, vinegar and steel wool, blow torch and scraper, wire brush, etc, everything short of sand blasting (which I want to avoid if possible). Any other suggestions would be welcomed. Thank you.

Hi Rick : )could you rent a small sand blaster? I have seen people successfully use one in the past.
If you have a power washer or can rent one try that. Be prepared because if mortar is loose or missing it will bleed on inside of home.
