Stenciling over water proof sealer- will it adhere?

I made my cooler stand from pallets, sealed it with Thompsons water seal and now thought of putting stencil on.😏 Will it adhere or not????

Thompson Water Seal is paraffin (wax) based. That's why water beads up. It wears away over time. So best is to wait at least 6 months before attempting to paint, stencil, or stain.

  Thanks. That is what I thought just needed conformation. I got in a hurry and sealed before I had decided in stenciling a name.
