What's a good way to attach (heavier) things to painted walls?
I live in a rental property and am constantly wanting to decorate- without ruining the paint! Some holes are fine so what's a good cheap way to hang things in the wall- for example a mirror frame I made out of cardboard and rocks? It looks really cool but I don't want to screw through the front and the back is just cardboard with no fixtures. I'm stuck.

You could try command hooks, they come in different sizes that hold up different weights. People have hung just about everything with them, they make some that hold a lot of weight.
Look for the 3M hooks that don't need holes pounded in walls. They come in different sizes for different weights and can made decorative or hidden. Priceyy but this would solve your problems. Also, if unsure one hook is not enough, just add a second one to spread the weight more evenly.
