Lay a layer of tinfoil on the bottom of the sink or tub. Add a cup of baking soda. Lay silver pieces on the foil. Cover with very hot water. A chemical reaction will dissolve the tarnish. Rinse with hot water and buff dry.

make a paste of baking soda and water. rub it on with a soft cloth keeping it moist at all times. Rinse and dry/polish with a soft cloth.
