Does anyone have ideas for an inside door?

I have an access door to the water heater and furnace that is in my main hallway. It's blah, an eyesore. It's currently painted a flat brown. My walls are terra cotta colored. My house is decorated Old World/Barcelonan/ Tuscan. I have rock archways and venetian plaster walls. I haven't been able to find a way to decorate this door to make it fit in. It sits high with the air access vent under it. I thought of covering it with a Tapestry but they aren't the correct size and are expensive. I need artsy ideas?

I painted three giraffe's in vivid color--yellow, purple and teal--I like fun things so this wouldn't be for everyone. The background is yellow and I added a couple of tall leaves. The spots on the giraffe's are the same colors just on different giraffe's. (yellow spots on teal giraffe, etc.)

Have you considered covering it in contact paper ? Maybe with a Tuscany vibe?

  • Contact paper, removable wall paper, decorated metal grate instead of a door... ?

There are many great removable decals out there. I have one that is an old world map. These are not expensive.
