    Black spot is a fungus. Use a systemic control by Bayer.Three in one,fertilizer,fungus and insect control.

    Step 1 Examine rose plants for black spots.

    The spots may be on leaves, shoots, and petioles.

    Step 2 Remove diseased canes and leaves. Burn or seal cuttings in a plastic bag.

    Step 3 Use a soaker hose or water by hand. Do not use a sprinkler on roses.

    Step 4 Apply a fungicide to plants at intervals of 7-14 days throughout the growing season.
