I live in northern Florida (east coast) and across from a lake. I love sitting on my porch looking out at the lake or the sunsets. Problem is the bugs. Do any plants or....? REALLY work to help with this problem short of a swatter!? We are new to the area.
Thank you in advance

You can try citronella, lemongrass, lemon balm, scented geraniums. These are just suggested. I use the battery operated mosquito clip on from off and a fan when sitting outdoors.

Those no see ums are aweful. The times I have been outside in florida I used bug repellant sprays on myself, under my chair, under the table just to enjoy outdoor dining. At home now up north, I battle mosquitoes. I spray yard guard around my front door, porch, and patio areas every couple days and that seems to be very helpful.

If you have an overhand on your porch, you can install a ceiling fan. The air it creates keeps flying bugs away
