I would call the installer and see if they back up their work first

You will have to have it re-stretched and stappled back in place

In most cases, the bumps mean that the latex in the backing has broken down allowing the carpet to be stretched. If this is the case, you can have it restretched. but the latex will continue to stretch. Has the carpet been wet? The latex tends to break down if it gets too wet when it gets cleaned.

We had the same problem. Eventually we replaced it, but before that we rented a stretcher and tightened it up on our own. When it was replaced we discovered that the padding was what had broken down and had made the carpet move.

Your furniture needs to be removed and a professional carpet installer can re-stretch the carpet for you. They will need the carpet stretching equipment an knee kicker and will cut off the carpet excess around the perimeter of the room. It will likely cost nearly as much as the first install. Some carpets are more inclined to stretch and make the "bumps" than others. Most of the shaggy carpet stretches and needs redone within 3-4 years.
