You can paint their laminate countertops and also you can buy a product where you smear concrete on them....a topping not really heavy. I have seen people use regular paint with the sparkles used for cement tossed on and a good food safe epoxy...one woman said her countertops were still good several years later. You can also use wood and make countertops to fit over your existing countertops...could be reclaimed or inexpensive wood and then seal them well. I was about to paint mine but a serious leak means tearing out walls and floors so I am renovating my kitchen.http://www.younghouselove.com/2014/03/trying-our-hand-at-ardex-concrete-counters/ http://www.uglyducklinghouse.com/i-painted-my-kitchen-countertops/
