you should try to take a look at the July Issue of HGTV Magazine. Lots of front door and curb appeal ideas. I think you are right though, the heat will affect the glue. You could perhaps paint a trim or border if the door is that plain.
Liquid nail woukd not be affected by heat or Power Grip .
I used sheet metal screws to attach a brass kick plate to the bottom of my metal door. Changed the door handle to a larger fancy brass one . Made a plain Jane door look more expensive.
You can use molding to create a design on the door, perhaps screwing the pieces into the door if you cannot glue them? Then a good paint for metal and you can get a whole new look!
Love the idea of molding!
