What is the best wat to root palms?

I tried to root them in water then moved them to moss and potting soil and presently just potting soil. They are not doing well in any of these rooting environments.

I just searched 'how to propagate a palm' and several websites came up. I was interested to learn that you'll need to plant the palm pups and that they should at least have 1 years growth. We don't have palms up here near Buffalo, NY so it's something I thought I could look up for you. Here's one of the websites:

here in south Alabama, most of the palms around here make seeds. The seeds can be planted and are very slow to grow. The first year they make one leave grow out of the ground. It looks like a piece of grass. Year two the leave has two points adding points with each year and after several years a stem seems to develop and then multiple leaves begin. It's a slow, slow process.
