I need help finishing a set of chairs

I have a couple of wooden folding chairs and a small wooden table that I want to finish and put on my front porch. What is the best way to keep it protected from the weather? they will be on a covered porch.

If you are painting or staying allow to dry and use a marine varnish to seal it.
You can use varnish and some small cushions, plastic table cover and a vase with fresh or artificial flowers and add some small pebbles or small pieces of glass rocks or marbles to the vase and voila!
