How can I make a DY Tick trap?

It's tick season and they are dangerous. Are there chemicals available to attract ticks and keep us safe in our back yards?

There is a DIY spray that will repel fleas, ticks & chiggers...to 4 oz. of water in a spray bottle add: 20 drops of lemon grass oil & 20 drops of eucalyptus oil. Mix thoroughly & spray whatever areas you want to repel the insects...personally, I would start at the doorway so that they won't enter the house, then I would spray ad the foundation of the building & go wherever you want from there.
Possums! They LOVE ticks.
I totally love possums! But we have armadillos, snakes, hawks and lots of other critters but no possums.
