Can I use a cooking torch for working with metals?

I want to work with copper and old silverware but don't know if I need a stronger type torch.

B, if this is a small butane torch, you should be fine.

I've never worked with copper, but have done lots with old silver plate silverware, and it's remarkably easy to shape.
I did a lot of windchimes with old silver-plate I picked up. Easy to drill through, easy to flatten, easy to form. Its fun
