Do you mean the drawers slide out from what is the end now? Can be done but the runners, fronts, new end fronts and cuts for new opening would all have to be planned for.

It depends on what you are planning to do with the dresser. Can you go into more detail. The obvious first answer would be "no, you can't" because the drawers are now on their side - and I'm sure you know that already!!! So I'm guessing that you must have a project in mind, therefore, can you go into more detail and rephrase your question then, hopefully, we can help you.

Of course; it is YOUR furniture; place it any way you want. I REMOVED THE BACK ON MINE; applied new hardware on the back of the drawers; entirely functional and 'handy.

Absolutely! It is totally your furniture and your place to do whatever your heart desires. Remember to allow for opening the dresser so there is enough room on the drawer put-out side for that; also, you might want to think about ways to camouflage the dresser back. You could always paint- chalkboard, room wall color, or what about placing a chair in front or some pillows and a rug for a little reading area. You could even put some little ledges on the back of the dresser to place books for easy access. Have fun!
