  • There are two methods of fixing, or should I say three. First one is obvious is to change the window. But those old jalousie windows are big so, so would the cost to replace. One method is to purchase the 3-M plastic window kits. They use a shrink wrap plastic that is held into place with double sided tape. During the summer the tape easily is removed. This is a great way to do a quick fix for drafts and is not very expensive. The other method is to use a PVC plastic panel. There are companies that cut the plastic and install a magnetic trim around the edges. Then a metal strip is fastened to the frame around the window. The plastic simply stick to the trim. And can be removed and used again the following year. The handle can be changed out with a new style that folds over so it does not stick out and interfere with any coverings you decide to use.
