When do you cut back Hibiscus plants?

    If it is a perennial like the dinner plate, rose mallow , I wait until spring and just cut dead branches down to about 4 inches. If it is this variety(perennial) the new growth will grow from these stubs right below the dirt.

    If your plant is not flowering a severe cut down late winter early spring leave outside branch's longer by summer the bush will regain it's size and it will be covered with blooms. That's the way we do it in florida.
