How to stop a swiveling chair from swiveling ???

It's a desk chair with wheels. Isn't too safe for an older person!

    Look for screws at the base that can be tightened or a swivel lock that can be engaged to hold the chair in place. Tighten any screws or brackets on the base of the chair or at the bottom of the stand to see if that impedes the chair from turning. If that doesn't work, fit a small rubber wedge under the chair, between the base and the swivelling pole. Hammer the wedge gently into the base so it creates a seal between the chair's base and the pole it sits upon. The wedge will cause friction and will limit the chair's range of motion.
