Put some vinegar in a spray bottle and add water. If it's a quart spray bottle then I would put at least a good 1/2 vinegar to the rest water. Spray the inside of the shower, let that sit a bit and then go back and wipe down well.

I use vinegar water (1:10 ratio). I spray it on and then use a scrub pad to get it off. My friend swears by magic erasers.

Unfortunately a lot of elbow grease with a Mr Clean Magic eraser and maybe some CLR.

HOWEVER, when you are done and the glass is clean, apply some automotive RainX to the glass and you won't have to do this again.

Probably the worst job in the world! I just did it yesterday with the help of a scrubber that I bought on amazon. Its a triangular shaped scrubby on the end of an telescoping pole. I spray the entire area with a bleach and soap spray then scrub away.. then rinse. It's not foolproof, but it makes the nasty job a bit easier. The scrubber is by oxo: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L9X4WCE/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Gee how did you stand th smell of the bleach??? I use the white vinegar/dawn solution for mine the only difference is I heat my vinegar then add Dawn and spray my shower and let sit for 30 minutes...works every time...but yes you still have a little scrubbing to do but it DOES work!!!Then I use car wax to help prevent buildup again!

Hard soap becomes liquid only when it's wet. When it dries, it hardens up again on the shower walls. I use shower gel to wash myself. It does not harden. I have a hand held shower. After each shower I just spray the walls a little. No soap scum ever. Then, it's just a question of cleaning the shower for sanitary reasons with any cleaner.

My mom has told me the same thing but my husband will not conform and lose the bar soap. I just decided to let it go. When he gets tired of looking at it he can scrub the darn thing!
