I want a natural rock pathway with moss in my backyard.?

The area is low lying and prone to standing water after rain storms. There is about a 45 degree rise with no drainage behind the pathway; all of this is shaded by large oak and maple trees with beautiful rhododendrons. Should I try to raise the walkway? How?

I believe I would raise the walk way. If there is already stones or blocks just pry them up and put small pebbles or rocks. Topping with a layer of top soil. Lay the stones/blocks back down. Gather moss, put it into a blender with butter milk & blend. Then pour SMALL amounts in the cracks between the rocks or blocks. You can also paint this onto rocks or anything that you want the moss to grow on.
You could raise the walkway by adding a layer of gravel first for drainage, then a layer of sand for your stones to rest in. Then, paint the moss mixture onto the stones as mentioned above. Should look beautiful and help resolve the standing water issue
