How do I fix my lamp?

The switch went out on my table lamp. I've bought a new one, but I don't know how to replace it.

You tube it. I can tell you I changed one for my mom years ago and I was quite proud of myself. I recall cutting the old one off and splicing the exposed wire (slicing?). When you open the new switch it's a simple as connecting the bare wire to the screws and closing. I am assuming you meant a switch on the electric cord?

Depends on the kind of switch. Most table lamps are disassembled from the base and the entire socket/switch unit is replaced. Remove paper/felt bottom and you will see a rod and nut to loosen the whole works.
