How to make something nice from a electric cable over my ceiling?

I had to hang my lamp a meter from my original electric point. How can I make something beautifull from that straight cable. Has anyone did this? More cable?

I made a long tube of fabric that I liked to cover the cable/chain and doubled it to make it look part of the lamp.

I'm going to have to do the same thing with a light in my kitchen as it's off centre to an old bakers table that my nana had in her home years ago! I'm going with a light with along cord and to hang it above the point to where I need it im thinking of using a pulley thing that the cord hangs over... pinterest is my go to for where my ideas begin! The pic is what I found on pinterest!

You can make a crochet blanket like peice and then drape it down and hang heels under it and then add a light on top depending on the time you put in it show make the house twinkle

I painted the cord and plate cover to blend with the ceiling and walls so it wasn't so noticeable.

You can slice a pool noodle in half length wise and paint it to match the ceiling . Tuck the cords into the hollow of the noodle then velcro the noodle to the ceiling or use hot glue or 3M strips .
