Depends on how much sun it will get. The roots on cactus are not deep. I would worry about damage moving it so much.
I would suggest placing the pot and cactus into the ground in the summer, then bringing indoors to overwinter. I'm assuming you live in a climate that freezes regularly.
It would be in your best interest to plant it in a pot and sink the pot in the ground so it is easier to pull out in the fall.
I would not do this. If you have to move it due to inclement weather in the winter, I'd keep it in a large pot and move the pot, with a dolly. Cactus have shallow roots and can tip over easily. Also, do not over water.
For a more in depth answer, it's help to know what kind of cactus and your general location.
There is not benefit from 'planting' the cactus for the season then removing it except to kill it.
First six foot cactus is going to be difficult to move, their roots are shallow. If it were me, I would find a pot that I liked and plant in the pot and put pot and all in the ground and cover it with ground cover. Then in the fall, clear the ground cover and take it inside. Depending as to what zone you live in, you may get away with putting it in your garage for the winter. Or an inside patio that has a roof and some heat.
you can but it won't be easy! I had a friend who did this with an agave plant that was huge. He finally had to stop the summers outside following an arm injury. be careful with those stickers.
