    Use a fertilizer for tomatoes with a higher level of phosphorous.Remove bottom suckers for more aeration,and pinch off any flowers growing to close together to produce larger fruit

    Be careful you choose a fertilizer with higher phosphorus or you will get large green plants that don't bloom, thus no fruit. Anyplace selling fertilizer will know. Tomato plants need full sun.

    Water, heat, sunlight and soil composition are all important. You need to figure out what your plants are missing in your area.

    I'm havin' a bumper crop of grape tomatoes. I got 3 huge pots for my deck....filled them with potting soil. Added 3 cages.....I keep Most suckers snapped off. They are doin' wonderful and we've had a lot of humidity, sunshine and rain. Perfect weather! I check them every mornin' for that nasty tomato worm!! He CAN grow up threw the stem. Good Luck!!

    Make sure they get at least 6 hours of sun a day and I use Jobe's fertilizer spikes for tomatoes.

    That tomato worm is so huge I think they need social security cards...anywho, the size and ripening speed also depends on type and your location. I think that, and what Theduke said are the only things one can do. Grape tomatoes ripen much sooner than beefsteak, for example. Climate dictates ripeness times
