You are best to remove the boards and replace it with Trex composite boards. No more staining your deck. Otherwise, you will be staining it every year.

What was the process used and what stain was used?

I'm not sure what you mean by a "better way" nor what process you used to stain your decks last year. However, I DO know that they MUST be prepped BEFORE staining, and I DO know that OLYMPIC guarantees their wood stains for 3 years on decks and 4 years on fencing. BEHR's has a warranty but they do not state how long their product is expeced to hold up under normal traffic (so what's the purpose of the warranty? I have no idea) . I've included a weblink here that lists the 10 top rated deck stains. Hope this helps you and good luck! You are so much more ambitious than I am LOL :)

I pressure washed and used a cleaner last year, as well as, a stiff brush to prep the decks. Then, I used Olympic stain which I chose a full coverage stain because the decks are older. It supposedly has a 5 year guarantee!!!????😏 This year they look like I never touched them, in that, they look worn all over...not just high traffic areas. I'm so frustrated and not really feeling motivated but...appreciate your vote of confidence! Lol!
