This 1920's dresser was crying out for a new suit of clothing.Just look how sad he looked when I rescued him. Missing veneer and hardware but I had plans for this fella
He had been sitting unloved for nearly 100 years, that was about to change
The original varnish came away with the lightest of sanding, sadly parts were missing on the the three main drawers
He needed a drink and quick! Out came the hemp oil for the parts that I was able to save. Look at the difference after just one glass!
I painted the drawers in Fusion Coal Black mineral paint and decided on the design I was planning for the drawers. I used a Royal Design Studio stencil for the two tiny drawers at the top. Stencilling in a liquid gold plate paint
The bigger drawers needed a statement. I had a huge stencil and taped off the parts I wasn't going to use. Here is the link
The sides were painted and highlighted in gold
Here is the finished boy, doesn't he look fine and dandy?
These are the stencils I used from Royal Design Studios. Here are the links

One of the smaller drawers was white with no veneer in the original photo. At the end of your beautiful job both of those smaller drawers showed veneer. What did you do?
