Hello Rhonda; I personally make Homemade Vinegar in wine bottles. I save the bottles, clean them very well, and I also take off the label. I
then place homegrown herbs, and other small things inside the bottle.
Most anything can be added to Vinegar, it depends on what you like!
I hope that this is helpful to you! Take Care.
You can also use wine bottles to make flavored oils,,, I use a cork to seal it then dip in hot was to make it airtight..
Clean out your wine bottles first. Add fresh herbs or spices to the bottles, then pour in warm vinegar. Cap the bottles and put them in a cool, dark place for a couple of weeks to blend. You should have some great flavored vinegars!
I love using cleaned up wine bottles for projects! Herbs and spices in vinegar or oil make great gifts!
