I had the same issue, I loved the light but, didn't want to be so "exposed". I hate curtians, I really mean hate, so I filled a large bench "the width" of the window and added lots of stands of different heights and put all of my house plants on the bench, waaalaa, still have lots of light and no one can see in unless they walk right up to the window and peek, " never happens" hope it helps :-)

@Nancy Holley They now make many faux plants that look as good as the real thing and require almost zero maintenance (maybe dust once a year :) )

You can also get window tint (like they do i cars) for the home- Walmart carries besides home improvement stores. or use glass frosting spray paint or frosted contact paper-- still get plenty of light with either product but no one can see straight in

  • A nice metal rod and use grommet curtains with sheers underneath. I have sheers that have an embroidered pattern underneath my grommet curtains in the MB so at night they are easily closed and then opened in the morning. And I leave the sheers softly draped over the window. I do not like heavy curtains and love sunlight so my curtains are used to soften the room as well as add privacy when I need it. If you are a casual person then I would just go with a neutral color or a color picked up from a rug or pillow and think of the window needing accessorized. If you find curtains without grommets, then look at the rings that clip onto the curtains (I use these and like how it is easy to open and close the curtains and I like the look with metal rods). Sheers work great to absorb the light and tone down sunlight without a lot of expense. Hang the rod high up on the window and let the curtains just touch the ground. Check out JCP because they have some really beautiful curtains and when they have sales you can really save. good luck
