In less than an hour, a rusty vintage toolbox becomes a cute planter for succulents!
This little vintage beauty was in my shop for a few months but I took it back before anyone could potentially buy it (I think that's the opposite purpose of having a shop...). It sat in my classroom as a faux succulent holder for the past year.
Using a few materials, I was able to transform the little toolbox into a REAL succulent planter.
To create drainage holes, I use a 3/8" drill bit to make six holes.
Be aware that you may need to use pliers or tin snips for any pieces of metal sticking out and please be careful to avoid slivers!

After filling the bottom with a layer of stones and then cactic/succulent potting mix, I planted as many succulents as I could fit and then filled in any gaps with additional stones.
Isn't it adorable!
Beauty shot of the final product.
And done in less than an hour!
