Bought a house with a few serious holes in the siding (in one area). What can I do until I can afford a final repair?

Lisa Merow - You can buy vinyl siding, cut a patch, glue it over the existing holes and paint to match. (Temporary Patch). If you can find the same product you can cut pieces to patch the area.

If you have a local Habitat for Humanity/Restore close, you can possibly get some older siding and "graft it in" and paint it as close to your house color as possible. Hope that helps.

You should be able to replace the siding without replacing all of it, check with someone in the know at home improvement stores.

Hi Lisa, If the holes are in the front of your house, maybe you could trade piece with a less conspicuous place on the house, like the side of the house that no one can see. Also, check on craigslist's free section from time to time, you may be able to find what your looking for, for free! Next best thing is Habitat for humanity like Sandra Said.

    Hope this helps!

Agree with above comments and will add that corrugated aluminum can be used, just cut the length you need, it comes in a variety of width sizes. Check your local home store, its inexpensive. Habitat for Humanity, may have left-over pieces.
