How to cut glass tiles?

I purchased enough glass tiles in 12" sheets for the back splash in our kitchen. The tiles are 1/16" thick, 1/2" wide and various lengths; and need to be applied with mortar and grout. Is there any way to cut the tiles without renting a professional water tile saw? We cannot find ANY available tile installation specialist in our area, they are all booked so far in advance. I want to instead try DYI if we could figure a way to cut the class with a special tool; perhaps one that would we could score and cut the tiles ourselves. Is this possible?

yes! Try Lowes or any such store. Or even a craft store. They sell tile nippers that allow you to cut tile. It's a handheld thing like scissors but for tile.

There's a tool called a glass/tile snipper. Looks sorta like a plier. It can be found at Ace Hardware, Home Depot, Lowe's or any store of that type.
All you need to do is score your tile with a glass cutter, use the snipper. It will break along the score line. I'd be very careful of my fingers if I used a tile cutter. Actually, with such a small piece of glass, I wouldn't use a cutter.
Get a good glass cutter and oil to go with. Then sniper to break glass. Practice on cheap clear glass piece before going to tiles you bought already. The clear piece is cheap and if you have a Hobby Lobby near, pull up a coupon for half off 1item on your phone.
