I wouldnt know why you couldn't remove it. It would be the same as removing all the tile.

Is there a spot thats not viisable where you can try removing one?

Yes you can if you can make a clean cut between the tile, but you need to know that there is no guarantee that it will come off clean. There is a grout cleaning bit for most multi tools which would help greatly.

I had that exact tile in my bathroom. It was mounted on expanded wire embedded in concrete. Once I smashed out the first tile, I had to remove it all. Turned into a huge job but I have no regrets.

It may be easier to just paint the tile. If you do decide to remove it just place a flat head screw driver at the grout line and tap it with a hammer. Be sure whatever trim you plan to replace it with is same size or larger bc the wall will not be paintable smooth behind the tile.

You can definitely remove it, but if you don't want to, you can definitely paint it and really update the look as well.

what if you tried to put wood on top of it? Make like a "L" shape to go over the tile since it sticks out. it could then cover the top tile.

I would not take off upper tile, unless you are a excellent carpenter, I wouldn't use wood. but it's worth a try. good luck.
