How come my Pussy willow tree does not produce pussy willow?

    1) pruning any time but immediately after flowers

    2) not cold enough in your area to set buds

    3) it is, but so early that you're missing it (they bloom around the same time as the forsythias, around here)

    i believe there's male and female plants and the female sets the larger Catkins . In the fall I buy the ones for sale and if stuck into water right away will form roots readily , as willows root very readily , I've done the same with corkscrew and other forms .

    Some time it is the age of the tree. Ours rest a season now and then, after a good prune it came back the next year
