Hello Kalcgate; I have had good luck with most Roses that I have tried to grow. I do like Mr. Lincoln variety. Here in Florida, we have a wild Rose, that is a Beautiful Pink one, that flowers nonstop. Please ask if there is such a plant where you reside, as I do not know where you live.
Also, it is helpful to ask, when purchasing plants at the store. Some of the Associates offer up a wealth of help and knowledge about local plants, care and types that can be grown easily where you live.

Climbing roses are extremely easy to grow. Just make sure they have something to climb.

not really what you're asking, but I've just recently visited David Austin's Roses in England and let me tell you some of those roses are to die for! The smells are heavenly! Check out the Emma Hamilton rose! Amazing!!
