I want to transfer my orchid to a different pot, what type of soil ?

    Orchids do not use soil. The is a mixture you can buy that looks like chunky mulch to use in the pot.

    My orchids were not doing well. I removed them from their pots and placed them in the crook of several branches of a tree in my yard. The roots fused to the tree and bloom continuously. I live in Florida, but you could do this in any of the non freezing southern or Western states.

    I agree with the orchid mix. If you can, try to put the orchid and mix in one pot and a ornamental pot with no drain holes as the outside pot so that you can soak it in tepid water in both pots and then drain the inner pot and put it back in the ornamental pot. That is the easiest way to water your orchid.

    Definite mesium especially formulated for orchids with a bark base. Scotts makes a good one

    Succulent or cactus mixture. Fast draining.

    Orchids do not need soil, they need nice bark chips help to keep them in a humid atmosphere.
