Toilet Flushing Problems! Help!

My toilet doesn't flush everything down most of the time. Thank goodness that it hasn't over flowed yet on my brand new flooring.. What I don't get is it will sometimes flush down poo so I fill up a bucket & pour it in to help but most of the time it won't flush down all the pee. Can you PLEASE tell me why this is happening? Because my small bathroom is starting to stink & it's the only bathroom that I have.

have someone run a snake down to see if there is any blockage. Could be tree roots or maybe if you have a sepic tank, it may need to be emptied

Get a toilet plunger and work it vigorously in the toilet. And check to see if your tank is filling up properly. I suspect you have some kind of obstruction that it's not flushing properly. Or do you have a septic tank that needs to be emptied

  • I would call in a plumber at this point.

Get some Liquid Plumber and follow directions. If that doesn't work, get a plumber to run a snake down the pipe. There may be a stoppage somewhere.

If the toilet was taken off when your new flooring was laid, there is a possibility that the wax ring was not set right when the toilet was reinstalled.

MegsgrandmomHometalker - First, check to see if your toilet tank is filling up all the way. (Adjust water level) Test flush with more water in the tank. #2 Next try snaking down to see if there is any blockage. #3 Go out side and find your clean out and try snaking from this point. If none of these work, I would call in a plumber.

You need to check the outside of the toilet to see if you see any cracks. That happened to me and I had to replace the toilet!

What kind of tissue are you using? I live in a house that was built in 1893, plumbing was redone in the early '70s, but does not handle the caressing type of toilet tissue. I use the original Scott and have had no problems with one exception, my grown son. He uses to much paper and slows the works. When that happens I just use Dawn blue dishwashing liquid. I squirt it in and give it a chance to dissolve, then dump a 5 gallon bucket of water in and whoosh, all taken care of. Give it a try before calling the plumber.

I use Scott Tissue also. My Mobile home was built in 1987.
