I'm a widow on a budget who would like to know the cheapest way to replace a laminated wood floor which was incorrectly put down in the first place. The people who own the house previously did not seal laminated floor so now it is pulling up all over the place. I would like to know if there's something that would be easy for me to do myself. I thought about ripping the floor up and possibly putting down some type of stick on tile.

Hi Sheila, If you like the floor, you can repair it! Here's a link that may help: https://www.bestlaminate.com/blog/buckling-laminate-flooring/

This would be your cheapest route.

    Good luck!

If there is a moisture problem underneath the flooring, it can cause it to warp up also. Make sure to rule this out first because of mold. Maybe you could glue them down good or you could toe nail them in with nails on the ends. That may hold better.

What's underneath the laminate? Concrete or wood? You could just paint the subfloor, provided it isn't a tongue and groove from the 1800's. If you have concrete, peel and stick won't work well due to the moisture, but you could use sheet linoleum, they make some really nice wood grain and tile looking ones. Maybe the floor is buckling because they didn't give it enough expansion room? Remove a bit near the wall would help that.
