Don't Forget the Birds - Tips for Feeding Birds in Winter

With the sever weather we've been experiencing in much of the northern U.S. and here in Canada, the birds depend on us to feed them. Here's some tips on feeding birds in the winter to keep them coming back to your yard.
birds, bird care
Use a covered feeder (above) to protect the birds during everything but the most severe weather.
Keep your feeders filled regularly. If the birds stop visiting, your feed may be mouldy. Wash and dry the feeder thoroughly before adding new seed.
Place your feeder near a bush, hedge or small tree so that the birds can rest there while visiting the feeder.
Try adding a suet feeder to your collection. Blue jays and woodpeckers especially love the extra protein.

I love the Chickadees, they fly to the feeder and while one is on the feeder the others wait it is almost like they have a air traffic controller
