What's the best flower/plant to grow in Texas?
I know that opinions vary, but what's your opinion?!I have great luck w Rosemary plants. Green all year long.
My suggestion would be to start over. Kill what is there, till and amend and reseed.
You will need to get rid of the weeds first or they will take over what grass starts to grow. Check with different weed products, and make sure you use a weed and feed product as directed once your grass has reestablished itself.
i don,t know but I refuse to put all that round up etc on. There are lots of violets coming up but they only bloom early
in Spring and hard to get thru my whole yard. I had some Ajuga start and it spread in 3 places. This Spring. My front lawn hhad three places with Ajuga ..it had spread. So I did not have it cut . I had the mower go around the big areas so the Ajuga wcould keep blooming
instead of being cut off. It lasted for over 3 weeks and people would stop to look at my purple yard. I wish I had done that other years...(not mowed it off). It reminded me of some Calif. yards that would be covered with a type of ground geranium or other flower or vine. I forgot the reason they did that. Some use a certain kind of clover instead of grass. I have some perennial forget me nots that fill up one d;out in back but. Then I must pull them out...depends on your seasons and climate and what grows by you.
here there are country homes surrounded with 5 t0 q0 acres of lawn and trees. The owners keep it looking like green carpet with their chemicals and riding mowers. I wish they would get a sheep or black angus or cow instead to eat their grass. They would have good meat too instead of chemicals year after year.
you can put hot water on them. Put vinegar on them.
Or you can burn them. There is an attachment you put on a propane bottle and it burns them.
Hot water with salt and vinegar. Works every time but might also kill grass
its a LOT of work.. but do what you can to dig up all the weeds (if necessary, rent a backhoe).. then put down sod.. or a LOT of grass seed.. then water, water, water, and keep digging up the weeds that will crop up in your lawn
