What is the best method to repair a hard plastic part?

I have a Waring waffle maker (model # WWM200SA) that my "one broad destruction crew" (can you tell I am very irritated?) managed to break the plastic piece inside the rear post that connects the iron to the base. Waring does not list a replacement part for it. Since the part is a stress point I want to do a permanent repair that will not break the first time you know who grabs it the wrong way again.

I would try a two part high strength high temp epoxy. Probably go to auto parts store.

Check Amazon or Wal Mart for plastic cement. There are several kinds.

  • I would call or email the manufacturer with photos - maybe they can help. I would be very annoyed too.

If it does not touch the waffles at all, I would try epoxy or something like that. Make sure that the pieces where you will put whatever you choose is not too slick or nothing will stick to it. Attack it with sandpaper or something to rough up the texture. Good luck with your destruction crew, been there, done that! It is amazing how many things get diy repairs due to them!
