Hi :) You might find this hard to believe, but it works ... they are most liking heat spots (or water spots) and will come out easily if you IRON THEM OUT ;) Really! Cover the spot with a kitchen towel or a white t-shirt folded in half, then set your iron to the high setting and iron over it slowly, back and forth for about 1 minute, then chcek to see if the stain has come out. If not, cover it again and continue ironing, checking again in a minute. Continue until the spots are gone ;) It works!
Toothpaste usually works! (Not gel!) Run it over the spots and let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour. Then wipe off. Spots should be gone. If not, repeat!
Iron out the spots by placing a folded white t-shirt over the area (or a plain white kitchen towel) and turning your iron on medium heat, then slowly iron over the fabric back and forth where the spot is at underneath. (NO STEAM FOR A WATER SPOT, BUT use steam for a heat spot.) After about half a minute, check underneath the fabric to see if the spot has been removed. If not iron a second time over the fabric and check again. Continue until the spot is gone (sometimes it can take as long as 3 or 4 minutes). Here is the only visual proof I have that it really DOES work:

Even the Bob Vila site suggest ironing out a water stain as the first thing to try. Good Luck to you. :)
