Are they from paint or heat? If it's heat marks, here is a website with the technique.

If it's paint it depends on if it's a large fairly smooth spot or a dot/drip. A drip can probably be lifted off with a single edge razor, carefully done. A larger spot might require sanding and possibly refinishing. It depends on the wood, the wood finish and they type of spot.

White spots on wood are due to water standing over a period of time so you literally want to watch the table again with water and then apply a beeswax coating and rub it in

Use white toothpaste (not gel) and a damp cloth. A dab of toothpaste on the cloth and rub gently in a circular motion. Wipe off an polish.

Hi :) You might find this hard to believe, but it works ... they are most liking heat spots (or water spots) and will come out easily if you IRON THEM OUT ;) Really! Cover the spot with a kitchen towel or a white t-shirt folded in half, then set your iron to the high setting and iron over it slowly, back and forth for about 1 minute, then chcek to see if the stain has come out. If not, cover it again and continue ironing, checking again in a minute. Continue until the spots are gone ;) It works!

Iron out the spots by placing a folded white t-shirt over the area (or a plain white kitchen towel) and turning your iron on medium heat, then slowly iron over the fabric back and forth where the spot is at underneath. (NO STEAM FOR A WATER SPOT, BUT use steam for a heat spot.) After about half a minute, check underneath the fabric to see if the spot has been removed. If not iron a second time over the fabric and check again. Continue until the spot is gone (sometimes it can take as long as 3 or 4 minutes). Here is the only visual proof I have that it really DOES work:

Even the Bob Vila site suggest ironing out a water stain as the first thing to try. Good Luck to you. :)

Hi there, pour a small amount of olive oil in a bowl, and add about 2 tablespoons of table salt Wrap a small clean cloth around your finger and dip it in in the oil/salt solution and very lightly rub it in a circular motion over the white spots. Let it sit for a few minutes and then take a clean cloth and gently wipe it off. The white spots should disappear.

    Hi,

Use a dry cloth and an iron to draw out the damp!
