How to make a nightstand and a dresser on a budget?

I need the bottom of the dresser to be 2 off the floor. The nightstand can be 2 feet. The dresser needs at least 4 drawers. Dresser can not be taller than 4 feet high total. This is from floor to top of dresser. Nightstand needs 2 drawers. This is for a person who has a bad back and can not bend over. Help!!!!

Okay, cheapest way I know: FREE on craigslist and paint with the Home Depot mistints. I know it's not a DIY, but you can get some great pieces with a little TLC.
As a caregiver I am always looking for bedside tables and dressers. One of the best ways I have found freebies is to ride around an area the night before trash day. You wouldn't believe how many people put perfectly good furniture on the curb. Older neighborhoods are good as their garages are usually full.
I also use Freecycle that is a yahoo group for recycling items and getting items for free, just sign up near you, and put a Wanted: posting for what you need. https://www.freecycle.org All you need to do is pick it up if you get a response.
If you have a little money, haunt the sales at IKEA. I recently ordered a new dining room table and chairs for $40 for a friend of mine.
if you have night stands already, with the right number of drawer, you could add height with adding furniture legs. you can find table and chair replacement legs at Home Depot or similar store. chests can sometimes be lowered by removing their legs so they are flush on the floor, or raised adding a riser same dimensions as the chest. Depending on the additional inches needed, the riser can be a rectangle made from 2x4's or 2x6's.
I think the cheapest alternative is to use pallets. You can usually find them free at construction sites or other businesses who have no need for them after goods are off-loaded. (Be sure to ask). Depending on the look you are going for - rustic or more modern - you can sand them and then paint or stain them. Hope this helps!
Yes, watch the free ads on Craigslist, also, shop yard sales, & even facebook has loads of local to your area for sale groups! Go to thrift shops, too! You can always reprint, or strip & restain/ polyurathane something, & theres always loads of cute knobs to swap out from Walmart, ebay, or local hardware store.
If you find the dresser you like, you can always add feet to it. You can buy them at the hardware store, online, and even thrift stores.
