I agree with Gma Kirk! Too complicated and costly. You would need a solar panel that can handle the load. You would need batteries to store the solar energy to power the lights at night. Cheaper to buy solar lights.
Just remove the lights you have now. Purchase solar lights of your choice and place wherever you desire - solar needs no wires - which is why they are so popular.

I figured it out! I purchased solar spot lights for $9.88 at Walmart...took them all apart and rewired each one to my nice copper path lights and each as it's own solar pack.
