Dig it out, cut it down..DONT LET IT FLOWER!
Definitely as soon as you see a flower bud, cut it off or you will have even more to contend with. This would allow you to have time to take care of all the thistle that is on your property.
Definitly! Dig it out as much as you can, (they've got good roots!) & I dump in a pot of boiling water into the hole, has always worked on ours. If you can burn it all, so much the better.
