Go to Dr Foster and Smith pet supplies on line and order a wrap for him if a male and a diaper type wrap with hole for tail if a female. They are padded and absorb urine and are washable. Dont dry them in the dryer air dry them. My large dog has separation anxiety if I need to leave the house and will mark if I'm gone to long so he wears one when I need to leave. They don't bother them at all and gives you much piece of mind. They also come in different sizes for dogs

I would first find the reason for the accidents. Older dogs are prone to bladder issues and I would get that checked out. Second, use a bio spray to rid the odor and clean the wood.
