Sink dilemma! Any ideas?

So our sink is/was made of a 'composite'. I can't find another that is shaped like this with the little bump out on the left corner or I would just pop another one in. As you can see, it's very, very ugly. There are deep scratches in the finish. The grayish part is where all the white crap has completely worn off. That area is actually smooth and it kinda looks like stone. And, no, this isn't 40 years old. Haha. It's 10 years old. I'd like to just sand away the scratched crap and have the grey showing all over, or at least on the bottom of the basins. Any ideas on how to get that done?
Showing the bump out.
Close up of the deep scratches, and stained area.
Some of the grey that I'd like to expose over the bottoms.

try using bartenders friend and a mr clean eraser. I think you can make a big improvement in the old sink.

Mr clean erasers are dirty! Daughter used one on railing of stairs...left a gritty, chalky residue. This thing is beyond bar keepers friend! I want to use something and just sand off, start all over!

Ann, I am refinishing a sink now that is 60 years old, it was scratched and leaching rust. I spotted a product called Epoxy paint at a home store. I tried it, my sink is now shiny glossy white, looks brand new! I am amazed and impressed. I would suggest this product, it was under $20. Read the instructions and cautions, ventilation is a must and always wear a mask. Keep the sink and marvel at your re-do.

thanks! I will look for it. I wasn't sure if there were any products that could stand up to the hot water in the sink!

I agree with the above, refinish rather that buy. Sinks are so pricey.

Lowes sells a paint for repairing sinks and tubs. I have used it on a tub and the renters seemed pretty happy. Just a thought

My daughter has the same sink but the left side of hers is large & the right side very narrow. Have you tried a product called. Zap. It has worked wonders on several things I've tried it on. Good luck with whatever you choose

If you are looking to replace the sink, you might go to the nearest Habitat ReStore, which has many secondhand and donated home furnishings. I have seen several countertops with standard openings for sinks, and standard sinks as well.

Everything at Habitat ReStore is discounted, and the longer it is at the store, the more discounted it gets. You might find something that fits your kitchen sink and your decor! It's worth a look!

All the proceeds at Habitat ReStore go to Habitat for Humanity.

Isn't there a limited lifetime warranty you can try and get a new one and replace it? They should last better. Also white vinegar on a rag and letting it soak can help with stains.
