Does pine-sol really keep flies away?

There are many homeowners who use a 50/50 mix of pine sol and water to clean their house and keep flies away.
I spray it on my screens. It helps but doesn't completely deter them.
Today's Pine Sol hasn't contained pine oil for years, which is the ingredient that deters flies and other insects. It also contains other harmful chemicals dangerous to humans and animals. You can buy pure pine oil and add it to water with white vinegar for a natural and much safer spray, especially if you use it on horses or other livestock.
