You can either burn them out, if they aren't close to your house, or use permethrin (sp?) powder. Do after dusk when they are no longer active. We had them in the yard and foundation of our house last year. Removing them from our foundation was tricky as they found a way into the house. Be extremely care if you use the powder as it is toxic to ALL bees. Never spray it anywhere other beneficial bees go. If you find them living in your foundation or any part of your house, Fill an old nylon stocking with the powder and attach it so they are forced to crawl over it to enter the nest. They will take the poison into the hive and kill the queen. Let it go a couple weeks after no longer seeing activity. The powder in the nest will kill any eggs which hatch. After a couple weeks of no activity, seal it up. If you seal it too soon, the ones which survive have been known to eat through plaster or drywall to get out.
