Apparently, they're good for chickens. If you want to get rid of them, set up a chicken run over/around them and your birds will take care of it for you.
I don't know what they are, but I have them all along the back fence line of my yard and I pull them because they grow everywhere! They are usually pretty tall by the time I pull them because they are on the other side of the fence mostly and I can only reach them when they get tall. I'm on the short side and can't reach them when on the other side of the fence!
upload your pic to GOOGLE IMAGE - they've helped me a LOT when I can't identify a plant. You might have to use a SINGLE plant as your picture. But try it. And sure! if your birds love em - let them AT EM! lol
I have to agree the chickens and goats love them! I also don't know what they are but they grow to over 5 feet tall here in Northern New Mexico! :/
Best I can tell it's called either Mare's Tail or Horseweed and can grow up to 8 feet tall, though mine are about 5 feet. Easy to pull up if the soil is wet.
